Jacky Rosen is proud to serve as a United States Senator, representing the great state of Nevada. As a result Senator Rosen’s election in 2018, Nevada is now one of only seven states ever to have had two women serving in the Senate.
Since joining the Senate, Senator Rosen has worked tirelessly to introduce common-sense legislation that has received bipartisan support, such as the Building Blocks of STEM Act, the Hire Student Vets Act, and the Cyber Ready Workforce Act.
Before being elected to the Senate, Rosen represented Nevada’s Third District in the 115th Congress. During her time in the House, Rosen was ranked as the fifth-most bipartisan freshman member of the House of Representatives, and was a member of the bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus.
In both the House and Senate, Rosen has led the effort to defend the constitutionality of the Affordable Care Act’s coverage protections for people with pre-existing conditions.
Rosen has lived in Nevada for nearly 40 years. As the first member of her family to graduate from college, Rosen worked as a waitress to pay for tuition, including at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, and was a proud member of Culinary Workers Union Local 226. Before coming to Congress, Rosen worked as a computer programmer and software developer for some of the biggest companies in Nevada. As former president of Congregation Ner Tamid in Henderson, Rosen dedicated countless hours to supporting her community and helping those in need.
